Actually, i wrote algorithm first in general latex format and done successfully. I am new to latex and i am trying to write in an elsevier template, following the instructions though placed on the template does not give me the desired outcome. Just use elsevier's elsarticle document class, as per the recommendation given in @sigur's comment. My latex codes for the author and the corresponding address are:
