I'm doing a volunteer class for dad's wanting to make a helmet for their kid. Look at the knights fighting in a field by monty python. Cullen cosplay on youtube also has some cool commando templates and tutorials. I 3d printed the helmet using this free file: I was told there is a way to change the pep file by removing flaps and altering the layers but have no idea on how to do so.

Your process seems really easy with your cut and glue method. The helmet file is unfortunately not meant for foam, it's a paper model. The file can only be opened from a program that converts 3d models to 2d printable paper called pepakura. If anyone has a link for a tutorial on how to change the pep file or a link to a foam template please let me know.

If You Already Tried Pepakura, Then I Could Try Sending The File Directly.

Your process seems really easy with your cut and glue method. Pepakura tends to have smaller details while the foam method uses the same templates, but the smaller details are left out and added into the foam. I used the designer version, it's pretty easy to use. I was a little lazy for a bit but have recently jumped back on the magneto helmet project i glued all the pieces together with contact cement and added on the accent pieces to the front.
